At first, when Robotiri was still called Robotirinhas, the stories focused only on the robots.

As the world they live in gradually took shape, I realized the project was becoming an exercise in worldbuilding, building this universe little by little through comic strips.

It was during this process that a small group of kids naturally became part of the stories. Each has their own personality, interests, and way of seeing the world.

Eventually, they needed names.

That’s how Singa, Angus, and Greta were born.

Like almost everything in this project, each detail reflects a little of myself. Their names are no exception.

Singa

Singa was inspired by a little girl who appears in promotional videos about Singapore’s vision for a more sustainable future. Her name is a shortened form of Singapore, reinforcing her connection to nature and the future.

Angus

Angus is the group’s young maker. His design has a science fiction feel inspired by the visual style of Star Wars, a universe I’ve always loved. His name, however, is a tribute to my childhood hero, Angus MacGyver, a character who always solved problems through creativity.

Greta

Greta is a tribute to Greta Thunberg and represents a generation that is far more aware of environmental and social issues.

The world of Robotiri is an ideal 21st century, where environmental, technological, economic, and social balance has finally been achieved. In a way, it is the world that Greta’s generation deserves to inherit, along with the generations that follow.

Flower

Flower is the Big Tech company behind the technology that powers the world of the 21st century. From artificial intelligence and robotics to the infrastructure of smart cities, its innovations are seamlessly integrated into everyday life.

Robotiri is a robot created by Flower. The company’s philosophy is simple: technology in service of people, for a better world.

Flower

A Flower é a Big Tech responsável por desenvolver a tecnologia que impulsiona o mundo do século XXI. De inteligência artificial e robótica à infraestrutura das cidades, seus avanços fazem parte do cotidiano das pessoas de forma simples e integrada.

Robotiri é um robô criado pela Flower. A filosofia da empresa é simples: tecnologia a serviço das pessoas, por um mundo melhor.

The Robotiri project began in 2019, when it was still called Robotirinhas, and was a simple series of comic strips about robots.

We have arrived at 2026, and the speed of evolution in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics makes 2019 feel like a century ago. When I started the project, the revolution triggered by the launch of ChatGPT in 2022 had not yet happened.

Faced with robots that are so real and intelligent in 2026, I had to rethink Robotiri deeply. I even paused the production of the strips for a few months, as the project’s original logic no longer applied.

The challenges and opportunities for humanity are immense. We are at a crossroads, with paths that may lead to a dystopian or a utopian future.

My outlook is optimistic, solar, and utopian. I believe that, as with everything, the problem is not the technology itself, but how it is used, especially by those who hold power. I sincerely hope that the decisions being made are focused on the collective good and on sustainability.

In a period of such radical change, Robotiri has become a very therapeutic project for me, a platform to express myself and a way to reflect on and work through the impact of these changes on myself. I hope it can be the same for those who read it.
